Introduction

You've seen how a paragraph is organized from the topic sentence to the concluding sentence, and how the body sentences all support the main idea. You've also seen how coherence is very important as well; otherwise your paragraph will not make sense. Now it's your turn to write your own expository paragraph, beginning with the planning and finishing with a polished, well-written paragraph.

Follow the instructions below to complete the section assignment.

Instructions

Choose a topic from the list below:

As part of this section assignment, you will be required to submit:

Complete the "Writing Process" section in the assignment template. You will collect and organize your ideas on your topic in this section.

Step: 2

Once you're finished the planning page, write your expository paragraph.

Step: 3

Re-read your paragraph. Be sure you have a solid topic sentence. Remember, it should state the main topic and also draw interest. Be sure the body of your paragraph is organized logically, and that all sentences relate to your topic sentence. Go through the "Editing Checklist" and ensure you have checked your writing carefully.
