Module 1:Skills Builder

Section 1.3 Assignment Part D: Putting it Together

Introduction

In this module you have learned various reading, writing, and viewing strategies. This final part of the section assignment is similar to what you might encounter on your English 10 Provincial Exam. On this part of the exam, you will be asked to answer a series of multiple-choice questions based on the information text you've been asked to read. This reading passage will include both written and visual information, so you'll need to "put it all together" as you read and respond. It will be important for you to use the strategies you've learned in this module, so this part of the section assignment will be a good place for you to put into practise what you've learned.

These skills, however, are important on more than just an exam. These skills will be very useful in many other things you will encounter, from textbooks in other courses, to work place documents, to writing a resume, to daily reading tasks (schedules, notices, and so on). Make sure you pay close attention to the reading, using those reading and viewing strategies to help you better understand the text.
