 Section 3.1:
Impressions
Section 1 of this module introduces the novel, and gets you reading and reflecting in a journal on what you have read. Throughout this module, you will be asked to reflect on how characters deal with their situations, and how you might act if you were in their shoes. Novels, stories, plays, and poems create snapshots of life-as-we-live-it. Placing ourselves in the role of a main character can help us imagine how we might cope in different situations. Also, the work you do in this section will help you prepare for projects and multi-paragraph compositions (essays) that you will do later in this module.
