Introduction

You'll remember that there are seven steps to writing a response to a poem. You've already completed the first two steps in the lesson. Now complete the remaining steps for the poem "To a Sad Daughter."


Use steps three to seven to create your personal response to one of the following questions. Then, submit your polished copy to your teacher for evaluation. Go back and review the lesson if you need more information on how to complete each of the steps.

Instructions

In a one or two paragraph response of 200-300 words, discuss the speaker's attitude towards his daughter. How does the speaker feel about his daughter?

In a one or two paragraph response of 200-300 words, discuss how imagery makes the speaker's feelings more clear to the reader.
