Section 5.2:
 The Play’s the Thing!
In this section you will dive into Romeo and Juliet, working beyond an understanding of the basic plot of the play to appreciate the characters more fully as well as the conflicts that develop between them. As well, you will develop a greater appreciation for, and ease with, Shakespeare's English and the beautifully poetic language he uses throughout the play. You will examine in more detail important key scenes from Romeo and Juliet, looking at plot, character, theme, and imagery.
In this section you will read select passages from the play as well as watch the entire DVD version of Zeferelli's classic, Romeo and Juliet.
Get comfortable and get ready (and maybe get some popcorn). Enjoy the play!
