Module 5: Shakespeare

Introduction

This final section assignment will bring you full circle to consider again the importance of Shakespeare, except this time through the eyes of another. You'll read an essay about how important Shakespeare's work is to one man, a poet named Pablo Neruda, who also translated Shakespeare's play into Spanish (Romeo y Julieta). As you read this essay, keep in mind how you feel about Shakespeare and all you've learned so far in this module.

Feel free to mark it up as you read, highlighting important points or even writing notes or questions in the margin. This is a good, active reading technique. The questions that follow in this section assignment will focus on your close reading of Neruda's essay.
