Guided Practice 1.2 C1: Paragraph Coherence

Instructions

How a paragraph is organized determines how coherent or understandable it will be. At the beginning of this module we stated that communication was important to relay our ideas to others and to understand others. Coherence plays a significant role in how well and to what degree we understand the message that others are communicating.

For this activity, read the paragraph which illustrates poor coherence.

Once you have read the paragraph. Number the sentences in the order that you think would make the paragraph coherent. Continue this process until you feel you are ready to rewrite the paragraph. Once you have rewritten the paragraph, check yours against the one provided in the Answer Key at the end of the module.

To complete this activity, go to Paragraph Coherence.
