"It takes a thousand voices to tell a single story." This Native American proverb teaches us many lessons - that stories need to be told by many people, that every voice is unique and vital, and that a story is a very important thing indeed! After all, humans have been moved by the power of stories since we have existed. Short stories and poetry offer up many varied and exceptional voices for us to enjoy. This module will take you on a tour through oral story telling, the singing of ballads, the pleasure of poetry, and, finally, the telling of a variety of short stories.
