Welcome to Geology 12!

In this course, we will be diving deeply into the three rock type, exploring the minerals that make them up and looking through the lens of geologic time.

Our first unit will be a chemistry review, and a look at various rock-forming minerals.

From there we will look at igneous rocks, including details about Earth's Interior and Seismic waves.

We will then move into metamorphic rocks and plate tectonics.

We will look at sedimentary rocks and processes next, including glaciers and moving water.

Finally, we will look at fossils and geologic time, and learn some relative dating and absolute dating along the way.

There will be assignments in each unit, as well as a test and summative project. The final project is a research essay, due at the end of the semester, and a final exam will finish off the course.
